Our History

Our History

Fair Deal was formed in 1989, in Castlemilk, Glasgow.

It was initially formed by a group of parents to influence change and break new ground in relation to service design and delivery for people with learning disabilities, this continues to be a big part of what we seek to do with the full involvement of people who use our support and services as well as parents and carers.

Fair Deal has been involved in a number of innovative and groundbreaking projects over the years including supporting many individuals to move from Lennox Castle hospital into the community, introducing natural breaks as an alternative to respite support and our pioneering Help Yourself Grow Project.

We have won a number of awards over the years including Social Enterprise of the Year Award Winners, Community Champions Award and the Evening Times Streets Ahead Award.

We Have achieved and hold Investors in People Gold Status and Investors in Young People Silver status and we are committed to being an excellent employer, investing in the development of our staff.
